The Future of Tertiary Education on the Tomaree Peninsula (held in the Bay Room)

A staggering fact from Tomaree High School is that only 30% of young adults graduating from high school go on to complete further tertiary education studies.  The Tomaree Business Chamber, Port Stephens Council, Local High School representatives, RDA Hunter, and key industry leaders are working together to bring better access to tertiary education across the Tomaree Peninsula.  The future looks brighter now with the up & coming TAFE Connected Learning Centre, which is a $7m investment in a local TAFE campus.  Further to this, we are now engaging with the University of Newcastle and country university centres around building an education hub and having access to university courses as well as TAFE.  People of all ages across the Peninsula will be able to access more local opportunities for further education.

Leah will be accompanied by Peter North.
