A Friend Is Like A Valentine

A friend is like a Valentine,
Heartwarming, bringing pleasure,
Connected to good feelings,
With memories to treasure.

Seeing a special Valentine
Brings happiness to stay,
And that’s what you do, friends,
You brighten every day!

Join all your Rotary friends to celebrate the special people in our lives at  our Annual Valentines Luncheon;  and of course bring your Special Friend as well.  Joan Glasgow will be serenading us with a special valentine themed program and we have a few Special treats and surprises up our sleeves!

Please note this year the luncheon will be on February 15th at our home base, Rotary House in Stampede Park with a special menu to suit the occasion.

David Docherty, PhDDavid Docherty, PhD, is currently in his second term as President of Mount Royal University, first joining the University in 2011 as Mount Royal's ninth president.

An accomplished academic, author and administrator, Dr. Docherty came to Mount Royal from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, ON, where he served as senior advisor on multi-campus initiatives in the Office of the Vice-President: Academic and Provost. Before that, he was Dean of Laurier’s Faculty of Arts.

Dr. Docherty obtained his Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, ON in 1984. He obtained his Master of Arts degree in political science from McMaster University in 1990 and his PhD in political science from the University of Toronto in 1995.

In commemoration of Canada's sesquicentennial, Dr. Docherty was honoured to be asked to speak at the Senate Chamber in May, as part of the Symposium which celebrated the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation
