Interact Executives from 2 high schools in Montego Bay gathered for Pizza-in-the-Park just in time for back-to-school the week of 6th September 2022.
Hosted by Rtn. Aunty Tasha from the Rotary E-Club of the Caribbean and attended by Liz Toby, President of the Impact club Rotary Club of L.I.F.E. , this 4th annual meet-up saw Interact in-coming executives for the 2022-23 Rotary year loaded with information including the RI theme and logo, DG’s message, calendar of events, Rotary & Rotaract Club contacts, logos, Rotary themes of the month, 7 areas of focus and 5 avenues of service.
During the few hours spent together, the group played tag and 1-2-3 red-light as well as lively rounds of Heads Up and Would You Rather as they got to know each other and share project ideas.

Excerpt from President’s address at the installation of President Roger White at the E-Club of the Caribbean 7020’s first meeting of the new year 2022 – 2023 on 9th July 2022.
“Historically, our club has consistently punched above its weight and certainly since I joined in 2017 the successes of the club indicate that most members on most days do in fact know they can and do make a difference. So that is all good and in this new year we should take that history as a springboard to continue with that same commitment and enthusiasm which members have shown up to now.”

INTERACT CLUBS BACK IN SESSION IN MONTEGO BAY, JAMAICA

In early April, 2022, the welcome chorus of Rotary’s Four-Way-Test was chanted by newly inducted members of the Interact Clubs of Mount Alvernia and Cornwall College in a ceremony held on Friday April 2nd at Cornwall College’s pristine chapel.

Hosted by the Executive Committee of the Interact Club of Cornwall College headed by President Joshua Flynn, this Interclubbing & Installation event was a long time coming after 2 years of online meetings and socially distant projects and included the participation of neighbouring school Mount Alvernia, led by their President Hanah Chow.
(The Montego Bay High School held their installation earlier in the year, led by President Akili Duncan, inducting 19 new Interact members.)

Altogether, 83 new members of the Rotary International family were inducted into Interact with certificates and logo pins.

After the formalities, each school took it in turn to entertain with talent items, quizzes and games before refreshments were served.

What a delight to be surrounded by Interactors once again as schools in Montego Bay, Jamaica re-opened for face-to-face classes.

In attendance, from the family of Rotary, were: Past District Governor Haresh Ramchandani; Assistant Governor Elect and Youth Services Director of the Rotary E-Club of the Caribbean Natasha Parchment-Clarke; President of the Rotary Club of L.I.F.E, Nickeisha Campbell-Brooks and Cornwall College Alumni and Rotaractor Ivan Godfrey.
Our concentration is supporting the communities of the northern Caribbean but our humanitarian service projects reach across the world.

Our application for a Global Grant to establish a prosthetic limb workshop in Northern Ethiopia has been approved. We are proud and delighted to be working with the Rotary Club of Gondar Fasiledes, the Gondar University Hospital and with the Rotary Jaipur Limb Charity to achieve this undertaking. Funding has been provided by The Rotary Foundation, nine individual clubs and three districts as well as a significant private donor. We are grateful to all who are making this possible.
Rotary International is monitoring the global affects of the Coronavirus and is encouraging Rotarians to consider how they can help and support their communities.
As an online club, we recognize the advantage that meeting on line provides in terms of avoiding the spread of viruses among our members. If your club would like to meet on line until the C-19 crisis is over, we would be happy to help you get started with Zoom. You can get your club Zoom Pro account with a good discount for Rotary Clubs, go to https://my.rotary.org/en/member-center/rotary-global-rewards/offers#/offers/featured

Alternatively, if you would like to join us on Saturday mornings at 9AM AST or hold a joint meeting with us, we would welcome your fellowship. We can be reached at rotarye7020@gmail.com .

The following 6 minute video covers some good tips for your club meetings on Zoom.

To celebrate Membership month members of the eClub were encouraged to visit with local clubs in their areas and report on the visits. Each week we featured a different region of our membership and clubs in their area. This video summarizes those visits. We learned a lot about ourselves and other clubs, connecting the world through Rotary.
