The 2023-2024 Rotary year is well underway! I thank our programs committee for organizing a fun fellowship meeting in the Palliser Hotel’s Oak Room during Stampede week.
My primary focus for the 2023-2024 Rotary year will be on growing our membership and engaging our members. We have already seen Rotary membership in the district beginning to increase, and we are working on an action plan to increase our membership.
We are bringing back the new members’ advisory committee as part of this effort. Following today’s club meeting, I will meet with eight of our newest members to discuss how they are adjusting to the club and how we can improve the member experience.
I will have much more to say about our membership initiatives in the weeks and months ahead.
I hope everyone is enjoying the summer, and to those on the road, I wish you safe travels.
Legacy Task Force - August Report

It has been some time since you have heard an update from the Legacy Projects/Funding Review Task Force. My apologies for that, but not all has been quiet. As the Task Force started discussing and working through possible next steps to address the information and recommendations from the Trico Changemakers Studio report, a great opportunity presented itself.
Behind the scenes, the annual audit of the General Fund (club: where your dues go) and the Community Service Fund (charity; where directed donations and CRCF revenue goes) is about to begin. In reality, we prepare for the audit year-round by following the policies and procedures set forth by these two entities and by complying with the CRA rules and generally accepted accounting practices. Here's what happens behind the scenes.
The International Skiing Fellowship of Rotarians is celebrating 50 years of enjoying winters on the slopes. Each year the fellowship plans 1 week ski/snowboarding trips both locally and internationally. This upcoming trip is to Mount Bachelor in Oregon. Join us for this 50th anniversary trip in February of 2024.
