New Member Profile: Dennis Tran

If you weren’t at the in-person meeting at the Palliser on January 25th, you may not have met Dennis Tran, who just recently became a member of the Club. Dennis is a born and raised Calgarian who is a Chartered Insurance Professional.
He has worked in the Insurance field since 2010 and has been involved in the community as a volunteer with the Make a Wish Foundation for many years.
He would like to give back to the community and has chosen Rotary to do so.
Please introduce yourself to Dennis when you see him at a meeting, on Zoom, or perhaps at a Frank ‘n’ Stein – Dennis was at the last one!

New Legacy Projects Committee

At its January 19 meeting the club’s Board of Directors approved the creation of a new Legacy Projects Committee to advise it and recommend to the Club, Legacy Projects consistent with a defined process of consultation for purpose, fiscal responsibility and fit. The committee (made up of the current president, and presidents elect, nominee and immediately past) will seek member input throughout the process. Any choice of project requires a club vote.
Projects will consider increasing the Club’s impact, member pride, fellowship, volunteer capacity, reputation, and fiscal stewardship.
Before making any recommendation, the committee will: consider budget and timing, opportunities for members to be engaged, Rotary’s 7 Areas of Focus, Reconciliation and diversity, our Community Services, collaboration with other clubs, youth involvement and sustainability.
We look forward to being back in touch with you all shortly. Your thoughts are welcomed.
The committee chair will be the President Elect each year so decisions can be tied into the Long Range Planning process. So send comments this year to Madeleine King.
Lake Louise Ski/Stroll Day Thursday March 10, 2022

Join a fun group of Club members and guests on March 10th, when a comfortable, executive coach type bus, thanks to Michael Colborne, will head to the mountains from the Canadian Tire store on Richmond Road near Sarcee Trail. We’ll be heading to Lake Louise.
Those who like to ski will be dropped at the ski hill, then the bus will proceed up to Chateau Lake Louise, for those who enjoy cross country skiing, snowshoeing, walking or just enjoying the ambience of the Chateau.
The group usually meets at the Chateau for lunch and a good visit, then back on the bus and down to pick up the skiers. The aim is to be back in the city by about 6:30 pm.
