Rotarian, Jim Gilliland from Williams Engineering, introduced the panel which treated us to a very informative seminar on Solar Power. Jim presented Andrew Jung Project Manager with Williams Engineering as the moderator and the panelists were David Kelly, CEO with SkyFire Energy and Arsheel Hirji, Leader, Sustainable Infrastructure Corporate Analytics and Innovation with The City of Calgary. Both David Kelly and Arsheel Hirji were described as having a burning passion and interest in solar power which was certainly on display during their enlightening presentation.
Rotary’s former program “Feed the Hungry” has changed locations and name. We are now sponsoring a day of meals for Calgary’s Homeless at the Drop-In Centre on October 19.
This represents an excellent volunteer opportunity to provide assistance for Calgarians in need.
