NOTICE OF RATIFICATION VOTE(S) TO BE HELD AT THE AGM:
1. MOTION: That the Rotary Club of Calgary members hereby support the Club Board’s Motion May 16, 2024 to support the nomination of Club member Randy Topolnitsky to the Board of the Calgary Rotary Clubs Foundation as allowed by that Foundation’s by-laws.
2. MOTION: That the Rotary Club of Calgary members hereby support the Club Board’s Motion June 3, 2024 to support the nomination of Club member Doug Webb to the Board of the Calgary Rotary Clubs Foundation as allowed by that Foundation’s by-laws.
All active club members present at the club meeting on June 25thare asked to vote on the ratification of Randy Topolnitsky's and Doug Webb's nominations to the board of CRCF.
Calgary Team in Singapore

Several of our club members (Madeleine King, Bob Taylor, Craig Henderson & his wife Michelle, Helen Hu, Kurt Kowalchuk and Manon Mitchell) attended the 2025 Rotary International Convention in Signapore and participated in the "CALGARY 2025 Booth" to answer questions about our great city, province and country in an effort to attract more Rotarians to the 2025 convention to be held in Calgary.

"Thank you very much for your support at the Calgary 2025 booth in Singapore. Not only did we provide Singapore attendees great information about our District, but a brief preview of the excitement and energy that they can expect at next year’s convention.
Some “preliminary” numbers are in from RI. They are extremely happy with the results, and so are we. During the Calgary Promo Rate Period (with some forms still to process):
Paid registrations: 7,281
Unpaid registrations: 3,811
Total: 11,092
For comparison, the Singapore Promo Rate Period (in Melbourne, with all forms included):
Paid registrations: 5,677
Unpaid registrations: 2,348
Total: 8,025
So far, that is an increase of 3,087 over last year and the highest post Covid registration they have seen.
We are overwhelmed by the response of Calgary 2025 volunteers - from both within and outside the City of Calgary. The excitement and participation from D5360 Rotarians from across our district, from D5370, and as far away as Ontario has reiterated our commitment to ensure Rotarians and Rotary clubs across Canada will participate in, and benefit from, our convention.
Special thanks to Volunteer Director Farid Bedwany for getting us organized, Corinne Wilkinson for making sure we looked good in our branded shirts, and Cassandra Graves and Shelley Zucht-Shorter with Tourism Calgary for being such amazing partners. We are also grateful for the support of DGEs Christina (5360) and Brian (5370) and our convention Chair Bryn Styles. We are so proud of you all.

We were recently pleased to be able to host the incoming President of the Rotary Club of Lagos, Nigeria at a Frank'n Stein meeting. He was here for his son's graduation from the University of Calgary and they both joined us to share stories and experiences in Rotary. Rotarian Tunji Lamidi's family live in Calgary and he will be retiring from a senior position in a bank in Lagos and moving here in 5 years. We hope that he will join our club at that time. In the meantime he will be leading a delegation from Nigeria attending the International Convention in Calgary next year. He is looking forward to connecting with us again at that time.

Our upcoming project (a partnership between the Calgary Flames Foundation, Rotary Club of Calgary at Stampede Park, and Rotary Club of Calgary Downtown) will be a wonderful retreat featuring a picnic table area, playground, amphitheatre, gazebo, and lush green space. This project is designed to offer families staying at the Ronald McDonald Calgary House a much-needed escape for fresh air, recreation, and engaging programs. We are excited to see our families enjoying this beautiful new park soon!

- that we'll continue travelling and visit at least one RCCD sponsored project... the Girl's College in Lumbini, Nepal -- founded through the efforts of our Club's Trevor Ironside and where we recently provided funding to equip the science classrooms at the college (500 girls attend)
- that this means we'll miss the JWD luncheon?
BUT
- that last night Madeleine presented a copy of the JWD painting to the president of the Rotary Club of Singapore, founded 94 years ago as a result if JWD's efforts and inspiration.
