Dinner Club 2017-2018
The extremely popular and fun Dinner Club is happening again this year. It is truly all about fun and fellowship!

Participation in the Dinner Club is a commitment to host one dinner for two or three other couples during the year and to attend as a guest at the other dinners.  Emphasis should be on meeting other fellow Rotarians and not on gourmet dining!  It is vital to the success of this dinner club that all participate fully including hosting and attending! Participants do get disappointed if they are not contacted or hosted.  Please help to make it enjoyable for all.

This is NOT a gourmet club but a chance to meet and enjoy the fellowship of other members. New members are particularly encouraged to participate.

Community Hubs Legacy Project:  Invitation to participate in two great opportunities!

Join us at the Sunalta Community Association for information on the Sunalta Hub Ptoject on Tuesday, November 7th 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM.

This is a longer commitment for Rotarians, family and friends who are looking for a meaningful volunteer experience. The Calgary Food Bank is taking their services directly to the clients in the NE community. A depot is being set up at the Hub at the Village Square Leisure Centre and we have been invited to participate as volunteers. There will be training and onboarding at Village Square located at 2623 56 Street NE on Nov 17th from 4:00-7:00 pm.

Rotary Employment Partnership - Inclusive Hiring at Calgary Public Library
Rotarian Bill Ptacek worked with the Rotary Employment Partnership to open up job opportunities at the Calgary Public Library for people with developmental disabilities.  Our October Newsletter highlights the success of inclusive hiring at the Library.

As CEO of the Library, Bill Ptacek opened the door to discussions about inclusive hiring two years ago, and the Partnership worked with the Library every step of the way to make sure they have the right people for the right job.  Bill said this week that "The Calgary Public Library wanted this to be a model for other public sector employers.  We would like our very positive experience to translate to more opportunities at municipal, provincial and even federal levels of government."
