Thank you everyone for dinner on Tuesday night – what a lovely surprise and yep you all got me… I had no idea that you were all scheming and the timing of the ugg boots couldn’t be better.

This week’s meeting 16th of June will be my last meeting as President and I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you for allowing me this position for the last 12 months, I feel like I have gotten to know each and every one of you a little bit better and it has been a wonderful experience.

Now on with the rest of the newsletter……

Good news for the Solar Buddy program with a very positive meeting between Jeannie, Judy and the principal of Tyalgum Primary School. They are very keen to participate in the next school term.

Mt Warning AM’s changeover is in the process, please see the attached invitation. Changeover has a yellow theme this year for Solar Buddy. Founding member Vicki Jenkins is hand making a couple of scarves to donate to the club. One of these scarves will be raffled at the changeover. If you haven’t had the chance to see Vicki’s work, it is a beautiful, no doubt a prize you will want to win. Please note, this is a transfer meeting and there will not be a normal meeting on Wednesday 23rd.

There is literally only days left to be able to make a donation to foundation and get the tax deduction for it in this financial year.

See you Wednesday morning.

Cheers,
Hayley

Judy and Jeannie went to Tygalgum Primary School to see the Principal about the school adopting the Solar Buddies Program next term. The Principal was very enthusiastic.

Our guest speaker was Peter Smith who was a Rotary Exchange student from America to Australia in 1987. His home was Washington State USA. Peter was offered France, South Africa and Australia. He chose Australia and his first family lived in Surfers Paradise on the Isle of Capri. He attended Benowa High School where he met his future wife. His second family lived at Paradise Waters and his third family lived at Southport.
He had amazing experiences with all these families. He particularly enjoyed Expo 88, New Parliament House and climbing Ayres Rock.

Mary-Ann thanked Peter. Hayley thanked everyone who went to her surprise party at the Riverview on Tuesday night. Hayley wore to the Rotary Meeting her black Ug boots given to her by the club.
Virginia reminded everyone that a social event will be held at her house in Tumbulgum on 17th July. The cost is $20 and everyone is requested to buy their clothes from Op Shops.
The raffle was won by Kaylene and Fines were conducted by Elizabeth.
