Jeannie opened the meeting with a welcome to new members and visitors.
Liz recited words of wisdom
Our resident district Governor Jeff Egan inducted 2 of our newest members into the Rotary fold – Cam Weeks (sponsor Hayley) and Mark Moore (Sponsor Jeannie).
Kaileen – gave update on the Poppies on parage and seeking volunteers for 28/11 Sunday market
- Book Fair - check green book for rosters
- Hamper – remember to bring non-perishable items
Simone – Movie night postponed until early next year – directive from Rotary International due to COVID restrictions.
Jeannie and Kaileen submitted Grant application for Australia Day event to be held at the Aquatic centre which will also include the other 2 local Rotary clubs.
Xmas party at Virginia and Pau’s house at Tumbulgum from 4 pm 4th December. Bring own drinks and Camp chairs. Also refer Green book for other food item contributions.
Haley has the raffle ticket for palliative support if anyone wishes to purchase.
Birthday wishes – David and Liz. Once again a very fine display of the “Silent Happy Birthday song”. Not our finest moment one would say.
Murwillumbah Leagues Club have a Market Day on 12/12 if we are interested in having a stall which are free for this event.
Guest Speaker ( Introduced by Mary Lynch) Tenterfield Club President Caitlin zoomed in with her presentation to speak on their achievements with obtaining grants.
- WW11 tank traps restoration received a $1500 grant
- Young Driver and Education training . This project was very successful. No fatal accidents since inception 15 years ago. Last tranche of funds were utilised to bus students to Tamworth and Willowbank where courses were conducted. Basic and advanced.
David thanked Caitlin for her very informative presentation.
Jeannie thanked the November Rotary Foundation Team Ann, Virginia and Stephanie on a great job.
9th December if the final board meeting or the year with dinner afterwards. All members and partners welcome.
13th December – Toiletry packing night toothpaste, deodorants etc. Also accept larger Shampoo’s as they are can be utilised by families in need.
15th December Last meeting for the year.
Very busy fun packed morning which almost closed without fines. Alas last minute rattle of the potty from Hayley saw us all digging deep into our pocket money.
Mark closed with a profound statement. Sorry I was not quick enough to cite it.
