Hello wonderful Mt Warning AMer’s,
It was so wonderful to see so many of you on Wednesday morning, and I really did feel so happy to see everyone, and connect with all of you my friends! It has been a huge journey over the last few weeks, and so it was very healing and inspiring to be able to come together and spend some time telling our stories, and sharing our experiences. We are continuing to explore options for how we can best reach out and help, both as a Club, and on a District level.
Loved hearing all the stories, and I am sure there will be many more to come. May there be many inspiring Rotary stories that we can create together as we offer service and hope to our community. Marissa was the winner of our ‘flood kit’, and we all had some fun with our special presentation to Jeff too. The chance to laugh and have some fun after so much loss and heartache, was good for us all to enjoy.
Jenny Hayes from Team Koala gave a great presentation about the work of Team Koala in our region. This group are very passionate about creating awareness and education in regards to these beautiful, iconic Australian animals.
Our meeting this coming Wednesday is our monthly Assembly Meeting. It was agreed that everyone would like to have some time for fellowship, talking, some fun…… so there will be no speakers….. but absolutely there will be lots of fun and friendship and laughter!
We have been in contact with the other Murwillumbah Rotary and Service Clubs, and the Tweed Shire Council, and we are looking at how clubs can jointly assist at the Council Flood Recovery Centre – we will keep everyone updated with this!
Please keep reaching out and helping each other, and please let me know if you hear of anyone out there in the community who may need our Club’s help.
If you are wanting to donate to help with flood recovery efforts, please remember our Rotary District Flood Appeal. All funds raised will be spent locally, where it is needed most.
Please also remember to book for District Expo…. Less than a fortnight away, and there are still tickets available …… so book now and join in what will be a weekend packed with fun, fellowship and learning.
Looking forward to seeing you all on Wednesday,
Yours in Rotary,
Jeannie
