Hello wonderful Mt Warning AMer’s,
Somehow, each week seems to keep rolling out the unexpected, in so many ways!
Firstly, a massive thank you and congratulations to you all on how you have stepped up, and reached out, coming to the aid of both our members and our local community… truly amazing! I am so proud of our Club and how everyone has lived up to our mission of Service Above Self.
So our zoom meeting on Wednesday was fraught with internet and connection issues, and after much persistence, it was agreed that we officially cancel the meeting. We have all had plenty of contact and communications since though, as we go out and help with cleaning up, food, and getting much needed supplies to people.
Many of our members don’t have Facebook, and so I have included some photos of the various ways our amazing Rotary Club has helped over this last week…… and this is only a small glimpse at what has been done. To all of you who have helped in many different ways, thank you!
Our meeting this coming Wednesday will be back at Johnny Francos, who are already back up and open and trading again. Please do your best to support them!
This week we will have Jenny Hayes from Team Koala coming to present to us…. I think some nice Koala stories will be very soothing for us all after the last week.
Please bring along any good ‘Flood Stories’ that you might have, and share them with us.
Please keep reaching out and helping each other, and please let me know if you hear of anyone out there in the community who may need our Club’s help.
Please remember to book for District Expo…. There are plenty of tickets available now…… so book now and join in what will be a weekend packed with fun, fellowship and learning.
We also have our District Leadership Training that ALL members are invited to attend, and a great way for newer members to learn a lot about Rotary. Our Club pays for this, so please let Mary-Ann know if you would like her to book you in. I am attending the 29th May training in Mullumbimby, and we can organise car pooling and go as a group, which is always so much fun.
Looking forward to seeing you all on Wednesday,
Yours in Rotary,
Jeannie
