Well, it has been another wonderful Rotary week and a great meeting on Wednesday morning. This week we had the privilege of presenting our Australia Day Community Awards to the remaining five awardees, who were unable to attend on Australia Day. It was such an honour to be able to recognise these amazing people, and to be able to celebrate all that they have given to our local and wider community.
Peter Akehurst gave a sensational presentation on all things bees, and the importance of their place in the world. Was both fascinating and enjoyable!
No bees…. No food….. and when there is no food…. conflict begins!
So in fact, bees are an entire Conflict Resolution strategy by themselves!
A huge congratulations to our beautiful Kaylene Stanford who was awarded this month’s Fellowship Award…… thank you being such an incredible member Kaylene, and thank you for all the work that you do! You truly deserve this special club award.
Many thanks to David and Mary-Ann who have got microphones sorted, which were up and running for our meeting. This is to make the zoom experience as good as possible for those attending via zoom, and we will be extending the use of these to help with the volume within the room itself…. so stay tuned…. we think we are about 85% there.
Thank you to our February Vocational Theme Team….. great first week….. and what a powerful icebreaker that Carlos presented, thank you! Carlos has sent me a copy of what he presented, so please look for this below. A wonderful reminder for those who were present, and a wonderful insight for those who weren’t able to attend Wednesday’s meeting.
Many thanks,
Looking forward to seeing you all on Wednesday,
Yours in Rotary,
Jeannie
