Mara Pratt grew up in Airdrie and has not left Airdrie, except for the times she has visited and worked in 40 other countries. Mara spoke to the Rotary Club of Airdrie about her experiences around the world and the influence Rotary and Rotary programs have had on her life.
 
Mara is an experienced coordinator working with government administrations, nonprofit organizations, event planning and management, sustainability and strategic planning. She qualified from the Alberta College of Art and Design in 2006, and the University of Canterbury in 2010, and then completed her Master of Arts (MA) focused in Environmental Education and Communication from the Faculty of Environment and Sustainability from Royal Roads University in 2016.
 
She described the confidence and personal growth she gained from RYLA, as well as some wonderful life long relationships that were formed at these camps, from fellow camp-goers, to camp leaders and organizers.
 
Mara is currently working at the Airdrie Council touching the ‘glass ceiling’, but is looking for the next cliff of opportunity that she can launch herself from................
