April Stallings from the Children’s Wish Foundation spoke to the Rotary Club of Airdrie today about their mission, operations and achievements. The Foundation has granted over 25,000 wishes since inception in 1983, of which 44 were in Airdrie over the past three years.
 
The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada is a registered national Canadian charitable organization whose mission is to fulfill the wishes of children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses.
 
The Foundation works with communities across the country to provide these special children the opportunity to realize their most heartfelt wish. By creating unique, meaningful experiences, Children’s Wish enhances quality of life for these courageous children and their families. It provides hope through focus, distracting relieve during trying times, and immediate purpose. It also unites the community around the families. It is estimated that every wish positively impacts about a 100 people.
 
Children can benefit from nominations and help in the planning or executing of a wish. The Foundation can be supported by attending fundraisers, donations or volunteering!
