Gallipolis Rotary Club Announces Scholarship Winners


(May 1, 2012) Recipients of the 41st Annual Gallipolis Rotary Memorial Scholarship for the school year 2012-2013 were recently announced by Jodie McCalla, Gallipolis Rotary Club Scholarship Chairman.  Recipients include Paul Miller and Benjamin Mollohan.  They each will receive a scholarship award of $1000. 

Paul Miller is the son of Larry and Lori Miller of Crown City.  He attends the Ohio Valley Christian School and is on the honor roll.  Paul has participated in many activities in his school including Varsity Basketball (captain), Varsity Soccer (captain), American Christian Honor Society (President), and class chaplain.  Paul is also a 9 year member of his 4-H Club, For His Glory, and has shown lambs at the Gallia County Junior Fair.  He has been a member of the Gallia County Junior Fair Board and has worked several farming jobs.  Paul has already received the National Wild Turkey Federation scholarship and plans to attend the Ohio State University ATI to pursue an agricultural degree with an emphasis on science

Benjamin Mollohan is the son of Thom and Diane Mollohan of Gallipolis.  Benjamin is currently home schooled and maintains a 3.95 GPA.  He is also very active within the home school organization, volunteering for the Home School Spring Gathering, and teaching a puppetry class for younger members.  Benjamin is also actively involved in the French Art Colony’s Riverby Theatre Guild and volunteers for the Gallia County Animal Shelter.  He has been a member of 4-H for 9 years holding positions such as President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and News Reporter.  Benjamin holds two Ohio State Fair Championship Titles in the dog competition.  He plans to attend Cedarville and major in Christian Education.
