Just one month into Rotary International President Sakuji Tanaka’s Peace Through Service year, it has become apparent that 2012-2013 will be a watershed year for developing new peacebuilding initiatives and supporting current Fellowships, grants, projects and other peace-focused activities. Inspired by President Tanaka’s personal leadership in support of the Rotary Peace Fellowships and his Presidential Challenge to Rotary Clubs and Districts, peace forums and conferences are planned or being planned at all participation levels in Rotary. Many Rotary Peace Fellows, both current and alumni, are offering their expertise and time in support of these events and sustainable, community-based projects. It is time to fuel the fire!

In Peace and service to Rotary,

Brad Lauman
Manager, Rotary Peace Centers Department
