Earlier this week, a case of type 1 polio was reported in the Banadir region of Somalia. This is the country’s first case since March 2007. In response to the outbreak, an immunization campaign is scheduled to take place 14-16 May, aimed at reaching more than 350,000 children in the Banadir region.
