In the Fall, fellow Rotarian Antoine, husband of club member Anne Beurskens, visited Kenya and sent this report.  After reading it and looking at the pictures [see photo journal listed at right on main page], I ask you - Do our projects mean anything?

Dear Fellow Rotarians of the Cranbrook Sunrise RC.
I just want to make sure that you have no doubts about the good objective of sending the books to Kenya.  The attached pictures of typical rural schools show what is needed. The shelves in the office of the principal show the books that are available in this elementary school.
We visited  a secondary school as well. There was a door with a "Library" sign: it was the lunchroom for the teachers, no books not even shelves.
There is no electricity and even no water for any type of ablution. In the global water project that is undertaken by the Newport Priestriver RC water will be provided to these schools.
In the discussion about our book project these are the schools where our books will end up!
