The scribing is all done, the cards placed on the tree and quickly taken by generous people of our City of Cranbrook; gifts purchased and then wrapped by the Cranbrook Cancer Society at their table in the Tamarack Mall, then collected in a 'spare store space' where they were sorted by a team headed by Darryl Bishop ready for distribution on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday before Christmas.

77 families and178 children were able to benefit from the  ANGEL TREE program this average number for the last 5 years. Considering the worries about the economy, it is remarkable there weren't more. It's also remarkable how quickly the angel cards were snapped up and the number of 'extra' gifts we were given to dispense - a wonderful tribute to the generosity of our fellow citizens. People obviously see this as a worthy program - one worth supporting. Thank you to Janet Bishop for hosting the scribing party, to all my fellow Rotarians and the members of the Mt. Baker Rams football team who took shifts on the distribution days and drove on deliveries. For members of the committee, we appreciate the support and the chance to be of service in our community.

The program received a generous gift of $350 cash from Kootenay Insurance Services to assist with the program. THANK YOU...It is much appreciated and will be put to good use.
