Having travelled from Rome to Cranbrook for her year of International Youth Exchange, Alessia was introduced to the thrill of ice-fishing on a fine winter's day at Baynes Lake. And unlike Shauni, she got to enjoy the experience on a balmy day totally the opposite of the sub-zero temperature Shauni "enjoyed" last year. However, like Shauni she was introduced to the long-standing Sunrise Rotary tradition of kissing the first fish caught.

Guides and mentors on this expedition were Percy and Frank who provided food, hot drinks, a stove for warmth and of course the expertise that led to a fine catch of large, delicious Kootenay trout.
