Declining membership has been a trend for Rotary International in recent years, particularly in the United States. The same can be said for the Rotary Club of Pascagoula. In fact, our club's membership level is now at its lowest since the pandemic period. Furthermore, only two new members have been inducted since January of 2025 while 12 members have left the club over the same period. In recognition of the trend, our Board has commissioned a team to address our declining membership situation including recruitment, retention, and engagement. The team consists of: - Paul Blackwell
- Matt Jones
- Christian Hartley
- Eddie Kirby
- Tayler Stevens, and
- Walt Perez
There will not be a guest speaker this week. Instead, the team will provide an update on the club's current situational status. They will also use the opportunity to gather information from those in attendance using a web-based polling app which allows responses to be aggregated, viewed, and discussed in real time. That being said, please bring your cell phone or internet accessible device on Wednesday. You'll need it to able to participate in the survey. Each club member is strongly encouraged to attend. Doing so will be critically important to provide the insights and guidance needed to define the solution space for the alternatives developed and presented to the Board. With your continued engagement and support, we can and will reverse the trend so that our club remains viable and relevant in meeting the changing needs of our members and the community we serve. Looking forward to seeing you all on Wednesday, Walt
