ImageApril is the month that Rotary International designates as "Magazine Month".  This month we celebrate the contributions that The Rotarian magazine makes to our Rotary life.

The first issue of The Rotarian was published in January 1911 and featured an essay by Rotary founder Paul Harris entitled "Rational Rotarianism".  Harry Ruggles, one of the first members of the Rotary Club of Chicago, printed 2,000 copies but demand was so great he had to print and additional 2,000 copies.

Today the magazine is availabe in print and digital format and is read worldwide. Each issue contains many interesting articles about service projects, Rotarian philosophy and topics of interest to Rotarians.  Over the years seventeen Nobel Prize winners and nineteen Pulitzer Prize winners have written for The Rotarian.
