In the month of November 2016, The Rotary Club  of Santa Fe started and completed a ramp and landing for our combat veterans participating in the Horses for Heroes program.  The ramp was designed to provide access for those disabled veterans to the pond area next to their bunkhouse at the Horses for Heroes ranch.

The Horses for Heroes project is unique unto itself. Combat veterans coming from all over the U.S. are hands on from day one working with horses on groundwork, riding, and routine ranch work ...all in the company of other veterans enjoying the cowboy way. Cowboying skills and strategy are very much similar to the skills needed in the combat situation according to founder Rick Iannucci himself a combat veteran. The experience at Horses for Heroes enables the veterans to recuperate, recreate, and reintegrate into society.  Veterans have come from all branches of the armed forces and all of the special forces teams in those branches.

The Rotary ramp project allows veterans access to the waterfall and pond area for weddings, simple ceremonies, and peaceful alone times.
