World Polio Day

Every year on October 24, Rotary members around the world recognize World Polio Day and celebrate the extraordinary progress made toward eradicating one of history's most devastating diseases.

Since launching PolioPlus in 1985, Rotary and its partners have helped reduce polio cases worldwide by more than 99.9%, protecting billions of children and bringing the world closer than ever to a polio-free future.

But the work isn't finished.

Rotary Club of Santa Fe is proud to be part of this historic global effort. Our 2026–27 PolioPlus fundraising goal is $2,500, and this October we'll mark World Polio Day with our own Painting for Polio tradition.

On Wednesday, October 21, Rotarians will gather to turn blank canvases into original works of art in support of PolioPlus. The paintings will be auctioned during our Thursday, October 22 Club meeting, helping raise funds toward our local PolioPlus goal just two days before World Polio Day.

From a paintbrush in Santa Fe to vaccinations around the world, every contribution moves Rotary closer to a goal generations have worked toward:

End Polio Now.
