International Day of Peace

Each year, the International Day of Peace offers people around the world an opportunity to reflect on the importance of peace, understanding and cooperation.

Peacebuilding is central to Rotary’s mission and one of Rotary International’s seven Areas of Focus. Around the world, Rotarians work to prevent conflict, strengthen communities, encourage dialogue and develop leaders equipped to build lasting peace.

For the Rotary Club of Santa Fe, September 21 is a chance to recognize that peace is built not only through international efforts, but also through the everyday work of service, fellowship, understanding and connection within our own community.

On International Day of Peace, we celebrate Rotary’s commitment to creating hope, building understanding and advancing peace—locally and around the world.
