DESCRIPTION:World Polio Day\n\nEvery year on October 24\, Rotary members ar
ound the world recognize World Polio Day and celebrate the extraordinary p
rogress made toward eradicating one of history&#39\;s most devastating dis
eases.\n\nSince launching PolioPlus in 1985\, Rotary and its partners have
helped reduce polio cases worldwide by more than 99.9%\, protecting billi
ons of children and bringing the world closer than ever to a polio-free fu
ture.\n\nBut the work isn&#39\;t finished.\n\nRotary Club of Santa Fe is p
roud to be part of this historic global effort. Our 2026&ndash\;27 PolioPl
us fundraising goal is $2\,500\, and this October we&#39\;ll mark World Po
lio Day with our own Painting for Polio tradition.\n\nOn Wednesday\, Octob
er 21\, Rotarians will gather to turn blank canvases into original works o
f art in support of PolioPlus. The paintings will be auctioned during our
Thursday\, October 22 Club meeting\, helping raise funds toward our local
PolioPlus goal just two days before World Polio Day.\n\nFrom a paintbrush
in Santa Fe to vaccinations around the world\, every contribution moves Ro
tary closer to a goal generations have worked toward:\n\nEnd Polio Now.\n
