VOCATIONAL TOUR TO SSEMAGULU MUSEUM
The Rotary Club of Kampala South organized a Vocational tour to Ssemagulu Museum on Saturday 24th October 2020. Ssemagulu is located in Kampala, on Mutundwe Hill. The museum is rich with a lot of Ugandan history, many unsung Ugandan heroes, and so many facts about the history of Buganda and Bunyoro Kingdoms.

The tour kicked off at 11 am, after being treated to complimentary cocktails in a personalized gourd and traditional dances. The host of the day was the museum’s curator, Mr. John Sempebwa. There were lots of findings through the History lessons ranging from the meaning of words like “Karamajong”, to the fact that Nabulya was the 10th King of the Buganda Kingdom.

The list of activities of the day included; Historic tour about Uganda’s unsung heroines, Luwombo lunch, Senga sessions (optional), Alcohol tasting, Luwombo preparation lessons, games such as Omweso, Barbeque throughout the day. Some of our favorite moments of the tour are captured in the pictorial below.

KNOW YOUR MEMBER
SARAH KIRABO
CLASSIFICATION: Ethics and Human Rights
In this Bulletin issue, we spoke to Sarah, who has been a member of Kampala South for one and half years. Let’s share some of the personal facts we gathered about who she really is through this interview.
1. What do you enjoy the most about Rotary and your club in particular?
I enjoy the fellowships a lot.

2. What's the weirdest nickname someone has for you and what's the story behind?
The name is Bestie – Bestie is not weird but it’s from my best friend. He calls me that simply because we “match” and says we are soul mates since we connected from day one. We certainly share the same thoughts and I see a reflection of myself in him.

SPOTLIGHT
FRIENDS OF KAMPALA SOUTH
“I am part of the alumni of the great Rotaract club of Kampala City. A club whose membership greatly contributes to the membership of Kampala South. At that time as I transitioned into a Rotarian it was no brainer that Kampala South was known to me because most members of this club did not only visit my Rotaract club but also fully participated as members of the club and paid their dues.” Explained Rice when we asked how she found out about Kampala South.
Rice Nsiime is a friend to this club and also Rotarian in the Rotary club of Lugogo Mango tree.
