Club of Marina City Installs its New President and Board for 22/23 Rotary Year

Rotary Club of Marina City rang in its new Rotary year with the installation dinner on Friday 1 July 2022. More than 99 Rotarians and friends of Rotary attended the dinner event at the Conrad Centennial Hotel. Attendees wore green and purple, in line with Rotary’s 2022 theme “Imagine Rotary” to commemorate this momentous occasion; purple was a nod to polio eradication, a goal that Rotary has been committed to for the past 35 years and which it has made significant progress in overcoming; while green was a nod to supporting the environment, which is the newest addition to Rotary’s areas of focus.

The packed event was expertly guided by Ambaree and Sandar, MCs for the evening. They opened the event and welcomed District Governor Joanne Kam, Assistant Governor Dannis Teo, PDG Dr. Abraham, PDG Lee Kong Hwee, and many other guests from fellow clubs.

Outgoing President Mr Heinrich Grafe delivered a speech encompassing his past year leading the club. The projects highlighted included the teddy bear fundraising campaign, the fundraising concert with the Singapore Symphony, Cambodian Chicken Farm project, and the Rough Sleepers project.

Heinrich also share that in the past year our club has grown from 35 to 40 members and that RCMC has a good distribution in age, gender and professions.

After Heinrich’s speech, Ambaree invited Mr Manish Jain, CEO of Jainesis Resources, on the stage. The club inducted Manish and shortly after invited all Rotarians who were inducted over the past two years virtually during Covid to come on stage to acknowledge them in person!
