The FM PM Rotary participated in the Great Plains Food Bank Packathon on Wednesday, September 9th from 2-3 p.m. The Packathon is an annual two day event hosted by the food bank, running from September 9-10. We packed over 500 pounds of edible beans into two pound bags in less than an hour and contributed $450 to the food bank. Thank you to everyone who participated!

During this event, teams of local volunteers will donate $450 along with volunteering at the food bank for an hour. The food bank has provided us with many opportunities to serve our community in the past, so this is a great way for us to say thanks.

We are trying to assemble a group of 8-15 volunteers, so if you are interested, let me know via e-mail or phone (see below). Friends and family are welcome to attend. I will be sending around a sign-up sheet at our next meeting on Monday 8/24 as well. I will also give a short presentation providing more details about the Packathon as well as highlighting some of our past involvement with the food bank.

I ask that everybody let me know whether they will be participating by the end of the day on Friday, August 28th.

Thanks in advance!

Matt
