FMPM Rotary Club hosts annual Bowling for Books during National Reading Month and raises money for local youth literacy projects.
The Fargo-Moorhead PM Rotary Club's Bowling for Books was held Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 1-4 pm at Sunset Lanes in Moorhead, MN.  This annual event coincides with National Reading Month and the birthday of Dr Seuss, the beloved children's author. Participants bring gently used books to donate to CHARISM Neighborhood Center and bowl three games for just $10. Sponsors who donate at least $100 are recognized with signs in the bowling alley as well as on our club website for the year as supporters of our youth literacy programs. This year, book-themed baskets were part of a silent auction.  Proceeds totaling more than $3700 from the fundraiser will purchase dictionaries for 3rd Grade Dictionary Days and pay for the Andy & Elmer Literacy Project at CHARISM. Plus we have enough books to restock the shelves at CHARISM, Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Red River Valley and our local Little Free Libraries. Thank you so much to Sunset Lanes and all of our supporters and members who ensured Bowling for Books was a great success! #RotaryReads
