Bio: 

Kris Calvin is an award-winning author and a past local elected official. She has  been honored for her advocacy on behalf of children by the California State Assembly and the California Governor’s Office.Trained in economics and forensics psychology at Stanford and  UC Berkeley, Kris is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the American Academy of Pediatrics in California, where she leads the organization's advocacy efforts and trains pediatric residents statewide in politics and advocacy, including at UC Davis, UCLA and UCSF. 

More than a decade of work with state legislators and bureaucrats has provided Kris with ample fodder for murder and mayhem in her Sacramento-based thriller series, which features former California lobbyist Maren Kane as an amateur sleuth. Kris' debut novel in the series, One Murder More, was  recently  awarded  the  2016 Silver Falchions for  Best First Novel, Best Political Thriller and Best Female Private Eye/Sleuth. Past Silver Falchion winners include Sue Grafton, Dean Koontz and John Sanford.
