YE activities at District Conference

Each year in May the Alaskan Youth Exchange Students (approximately 32 in all from all over the globe) began making their treck to District Conference. Planes, Busses and Ferries - the trip itself is an adventure! Thursday is a general logistical day - students checking into the B&B, getting room assignments and hanging out. Later in the evening, a recreational opportunity, such as a BBQ and presentations on Rotary projects. Saturday begins with the traditional Flag Ceremony and opening Plenary Session, followed activities throughout the remainder of the weekend. District conference provides a wonderful opportunity for the students to socialize with each other as well as District 5010 Rotarians.
