Our monthly club social will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at Gander Taphouse at the Blue Goose in Loomis. It is a joint social with the Loomis-Sunset Rotary Club. We are exploring ways to work together on service projects.
This Friday's speaker is Joan Toulakian, who will share Sutter Hospital's expansion plans. Thank you Jim Gragg for bringing consistently good speakers to our club.
Saturday is our long-awaited crab feed with Adopt-An-Elder! Thank you to Tom Gibbs for overseeing, and for everyone who has been hard at work preparing for this event! A few reminders and requests:
Frank Ali needs 6 volunteers to help with check-out (closing the silent auction, taking payment for winning bids, etc). There will be a training session tomorrow Tuesday 11AM at Frank's office. If you can make it please let Frank know. Additional training sessions can be set up; please contact Frank.
Thank you Al Savery for overseeing ticket sales and sending out table number assignments. Please let your guests know their table number in advance. There will also be a seating chart at the event.
Tom Gibbs reminds everyone to make sure guests know about the $10 per bottle corkage fee. Also encourage everyone to buy raffle tickets and also heads/tails wristbands, each $10. Heads/tails wristband holders will participate in a fun heads or tails game where players are eliminated each round depending on whether they correctly guessed heads or tails. The winning contestant splits the pot with Rotary and Adopt-an-Elder.
Many thanks to Erika Halwachs for overseeing the silent auction and preparing all the prizes for Saturday. That was a lot of work and we sure are grateful to you!
Let's make sure that we as members do all we can to make sure our guests have a good time at the crab feed! If you see a line building up for drinks, please wait to get your drink and allow guests to go first. If you see that something needs to get done, please step in to help. Let's make sure our guests have fun and want to come back!
Celebrations
Happy birthday to Jody Porter and Ray Jones, who will turn a year older and wiser this holiday weekend!
