Rotary @ the RockHounds event was a **HUGE** success! Thank you to everyone who participated in our first community awareness event to raise funds and share in our efforts to eradicate Polio. In front of a sell out crowd, with the RockHounds pulling out a win (again!) we were able to reach out to many members of the Permian Basin and have fun doing it! Read on to see just how much we raised...

The goal of this event was to raise awareness with members of our community of 1) what Rotary is and 2) what we do. It was also a fundraiser for Polio Plus because Rotary International is hopeful that we will see the end of this preventable disease by the year 2018! Through shirt sales, donations, and sale of "Light Up" items we raised $2500!! Add to that the 3-1 match provided by our partners at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Downtown Midland Rotary Club made $10,000 possible to Polio Eradication efforts :) I am so proud of the way we embraced the ability to partner not only with the Gates Foundation but also with Midland West and Midland North Rotary Clubs and the community to make such an impactful difference. I do think next time I will let someone else throw out the first pitch - ha ha ha! Either way, we had almost 50 red End Polio Now shirts in that stadium and several PSA throughout the game all combined to achieve great things through Rotary.
