Dental Clinics
2016-2020
Metro Lubbock Rotary partnered with the Mirador Rotary Club in the Dominican Republic in a dental project with the Santiago University. Through this partnership, we helped develop 15 dental clinics throughout the country, provided current medical equipment to the clinics, staffed the offices, and provided the opportunity for dental students from the University to gain hands-on experience treating patients during their medical program.
Sewing Centers
2013-2017
In another partnership with the Mirador Rotary Club, Metro Lubbock Rotary helped establish eight sewing centers for single women with families who live far below the poverty level. The centers teach them a lifelong skill that enable them to earn a living in a home-based business or a textile factory.
