Lots of Rotary anniversaries were announced .

 

Jan Ingram won the gun raffle from Russian Jack.  Also Russian Jack is selling prints for $65 to support their scholarship fund – they give out 1500/ per year for 4 years.  They met their goal last year of $18,000 and hope to continue.

Boyd congratulated Russian Jack on the scholarship program and provided the letter below from one of AIR’s scholarship recipients Christopher Lawrence.

Bill Pearson shared how much his kids loved seeing Santa 9 early.  He introduced his guest Ricky Morrison.

Beth Rose had $5 happy bucks that she was back to health again after having the flu for 2 weeks.

Rick Goodfellow (Aka Jan’s Husband) was awarded the UAA meritorious Service Award for all the good work KLEF Radio does for the university and the community.  Rick had also credited Jan, Anchorage is so lucky that both are great Rotarians in our community.

Bruce E introduced his guest, wife Becky, who was “enjoying” a furlough day from ACS.

Chidi was at the meeting and we are all glad to see him.  His travel schedule is crazy. He mentioned he got to see some members at the airport to mention a few of his recent trips: to Cuba, Canada, Greece, Fairbanks, Juneau.

The Free Alaska Airlines tickets floating around on facebook are a scam as mentioned by Ted Trueblood and other club members.

Penny is departing Alaska for Arizona and will be back in 3 months, she will not miss the ice.

Tim Ellis had UAA hockey tickets to pass along.

Celeste reminded everyone of the need to fill out donation forms for the auction, and to bring guests on Feb 9 for the Foundation Auction.

Tim Bradner  gave a great presentation one item of particular interest was that over the last 3 years BP and other Prudhoe producers have stopped the decline in production and kept it level,  questions were asked and Chidi was able to help explain the efficiency process to club.
