As If They Were Angels - A Big Story of Disaster, Rescue, and Heroism, Now A Film

This story that filmmaker Ms. Strauss will discuss is a very compelling and somewhat unknown, both tragic and inspirational, incident that happened on February 18, 1942. She has shed light on what happened 78 years ago in one of the worst non-combat disasters in the history of the US Navy and just after the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941.

Ms. Strauss' dad was one of the surviving sailors out of the 186 that were rescued and where dreadfully, 203 sailors died.

Her film had a great reception among film festival audiences, had three showings at the recent Mill Valley Film Festival, as well as at indie theater screenings too.
