🎁 Silent Auction at Installation Dinner

We were sorry to have to cancel our planned Golf Tournament which would have taken place this past Monday. That does leave some ground to make up in our fundraising efforts. Our Board is exploring various options. If you have fundraising ideas, please put them forward!

In the meanwhile, our “Fundraiser Extraordinaire”, Lisa Burris, has coordinated a wonderful Silent Auction for our Installation Dinner on Thursday. The following fabulous items will be included:

PLUS:  Basket in Appreciation of Peace-loving and Calm - basket of sweet treats and chocolates with TF tea bags and special pink stone heart pendant with chain. Value: $107 Donated by Marciana and Denis O'Halloran and Southwood Plumbing and Heating

🤔 Definition of Rotary

In 1976, the Rotary International Board of Directors approved an official definition of our organization that is used to this day. “Rotary is an organization of business and professional persons united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.”

🤝 Rotary's Monthly Theme for June, 2026:            Rotary Fellowships

This month celebrates global connections, goodwill, and international friendships among Rotarians who share common recreational or vocational interests. Several members of our club belong to these fellowships, including Rick Chinn, who belongs to the “WASHRAG” (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Rotary Action Group), and Janet Fogarty, who belongs to a wine appreciation group. Joe Teresi belongs to the Environmental Sustainability RAG and the Mental Health RAG. Want to know more? https://www.rotary.org/en/rotary-action-groups

❤️ Service Above Self

The motto of Rotary originated from a 1911 speech by Ben Collins of the Rotary Club of Minneapolis, who suggested that the best way to organize a club was to live by the principle of “Service, Not Self,” which was later refined to “Service Above Self.”

Wishing a very happy birthday and anniversary to our incredible Millbrae Rotarians celebrating their special milestones! Thank you for everything you do to bring energy, dedication, and "Service Above Self" to our club and community. Be sure to send them a warm note, a quick text, or cross the room to celebrate them in person at our next gathering! 🥳🎉
