🏆 Millbrae Rotary Takes Top District Honors!
We have incredible, historic news to celebrate! At the District 5150 Celebration, the Rotary Club of Millbrae took top honors by winning The Governor’s Bell Medium Club Award!
This award represents the absolute highest tier of recognition for clubs of our size across the entire district. It is a direct reflection of your outstanding generosity, tireless committee work, and hands-on hours of service in the community. The beautiful Governor's Bell trophy is officially ours!
But winning it this year is just the beginning—let's make sure we are working intentionally to defend our title for the 2026-2027 Rotary year. Club committees will be tracking our progress across these exact District merit categories:

🚀 Local Grants Approved & Moving Forward!
Our blueprint for this year's local funding is officially locked in! On May 31st, we successfully submitted our applications to activate $10,220 in dedicated funding for these fantastic community initiatives:
Rise Against Hunger: $3,000 to combat food insecurity.
Second Harvest Food Bank: $2,000 for local emergency food distribution.
MESD Tech Grant: $2,500 to install brand-new digital information screens in school offices, helping Millbrae schools connect seamlessly with local families.
Shelter Box: $1,000 to provide international disaster relief.
CORA: $1,000 to support domestic violence crisis intervention.
Taylor Garden Expansion: $500 to expand our hands-on environmental community garden.
❤️ Saving Lives, One Heart at a Time
On the international front, our signature Gift of Life project is operating at full speed, and the real-world impact is nothing short of miraculous. We just received an extraordinary report from our medical partners at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital: in the last three weeks alone, our project funded and successfully facilitated urgent, life-saving cardiac surgeries for four infants under the age of six months! All four tiny patients suffered from severe congenital heart anomalies (including PDA, severe aortic stenosis, and Tetralogy of Fallot). Thanks to the dedication of our global medical networks, three of these beautiful children have already been safely discharged to recover at home with their families, and the fourth is currently scheduled for their corrective procedure.
Our Next Big Goal: Growing the Coalition
We have an incredible opportunity to scale this miracle project and save even more children's lives in the coming year. The Rose C. Stone Foundation has lined up a powerful matching grant opportunity that will multiply our future global grant funds. Even better? Contributions from other Rotary clubs qualify for this exact same massive foundation match!
Because of this, we are officially launching a focused outreach campaign to recruit neighboring clubs into our Gift of Life coalition. Every single partner club we bring into the fold exponentially increases our pool of matching funds and allows us to sponsor more surgeries. I am incredibly excited to work alongside our International Service Chairs and any interested members to build out this network. Let’s bring our neighboring clubs together, maximize this match, and show everyone why Millbrae is the Club that Can!
