Next Generation Scholars

Next Generation Scholars believes equal access to higher education is the key to making positive change within our community. Our mission is to level the playing field by providing dedicated underserved students with all the advantages available to those of privilege.

Next Generation Scholars offers a college preparatory curriculum, psychological services, leadership training and supportive social services. All elements of our programs are approached through the lens of ethnic studies and social justice. Our lectures, events, projects and personal interactions are rooted in a deep respect for our multicultural society and a desire to provide our students with a meaningful education. It is of utmost importance that all our students not only see themselves as active agents of change in the community, but that they also think seriously about what values and causes they are going to enact in their lives.

While at Wesleyan, Justin founded and led an affinity group for students who identify as men of color called Invisible Men. Justin continued his education in Educational Leadership, Politics, and Advocacy from the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development at New York University. Previously, Justin has worked in program development, operations, communications, and fundraising in youth development and education non-profits.
