The CAP Cadet Program is a year-round program where Cadets fly, learn to lead, hike, camp, get in shape, and push themselves to new limits. To become a cadet, you must be be at least 12 years old and not yet 19 years old. Come join us for a great meeting with our District Govenor Sue Rokaw. Sue Rokaw has given her talents to Rotary both at the Club and District levels. A Master PRLS graduate, she is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Fisherman’s Wharf, a Past Assistant Governor, and currently RYLA Chair and also District 5150 Committee Chair of the Public Relations/Public Image Committee, and a member of the District Visioning team. Current Fisherman’s Wharf Club President Suzanne Varacalli who nominated Sue wrote: “I am sure Sue has given of her time and intelligence in areas of Rotary I don’t even know about, but it is my personal experience with Sue that inspires this nomination.” Suzanne further writes: “As a President of a Rotary Club there is nothing better than having a member who understands the dynamics of your Club and can gently nudge and make suggestions before potential issues become issues. Sue does this for me. She teaches me how to get the best from my members and is always ready to help and give support with positive feedback. Sue is making a difference in my experience as President and I am very grateful.”

Shireen Taleghani Yates has been leading a gluten-free diet for the past eight years. She is always on the hunt for new gluten-free foods but still finds it risky to eat out safely. After five years in sales and marketing at Google and Youtube, and an MBA from MIT Sloan, she decided to pursue her passion for helping people lead healthier lifestyles by starting 6SensorLabs. She is a graduate from our Reed School district who attended Redwood High School. She is married and has two small children. She lives in Marin County.

Dennis will be presenting on his new book about an unreported war waged on the Korean DMZ in 1968 that many may find has substantial relevance to what is going on right now. A victory according to Wikipedia, it has been kept under wraps, leaving some 4000 veterans never thanked or acknowledged for keeping the world from going nuclear. |

Oran Muduroglu has been a Chairman of the Board of Median Technologies SA since April 10, 2019. He previously served as Director at the company as of March 26, 2008. He has over 20 years of healthcare industry experience. Mr. Muduroglu joined Medicalis in January 2010 as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Medicalis, he was the CEO of Health Informatics at Philips Medical Systems. In 1988, he co-founded and became CEO of Stentor, which was acquired by Philips in 2005. In the early 1990s, he served as vice president of sales and marketing at Cemax, an early pioneer in image management and advanced visualization, and prior to that, he was a senior product manager at Toshiba Medical. He received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from King's College in London. He is currently also Chairman and CEO of Verily. |

ABLE - A Broader Living Experience CANCELLED DUE TO CONVID-19

A Broader Living Experience (ABLE), is a non-profit 501(c)3, ICF-DD(H) licensed residential facility in San Rafael, CA. Focusing on creating a home environment with 24-hour care for adult men and women with developmental disabilities. With a ten-bed residential facility for developmentally disabled adults, founded by a Marin County native family whose children lived at the Sonoma Developmental Facility, a large State institution. As both their children grew older, the parents envisioned a place in Marin where their loved ones would be closer and where families could have more input in their care. They dreamed of a home where their children would receive loving care for the rest of their lives. In April 1985, DeAnza House was opened. The day-to-day operation was given to a local organization to manage. In 1991, the parents took back the operation of the home. Although still called DeAnza by many, the formal name was changed to ABLE – A Broader Living Experience. Its board of directors is made up of relatives and community leaders. |

Clinic Operations Manager of RotaCare San Rafael
One of the greatest accomplishments of Rotary Club of Marinsunrise has been the establishment of RotaCare. We have a new Ops Manager and all members are quite keen to meet her in person. Lisa María Dickey is a public health specialist with ten years of experience working in the United States and abroad. She specializes in improving health outcomes in extremely resource poor settings. Over the last six years, she has played a critical role in international medical programs where she established a pediatric chronic care clinic, facilitated workshops with the goal of improving community access to health information and medical services, provided patient advocacy, and developed quality improvement projects for inpatient pediatric and neonatology units. She holds a Master’s in Public Health from Boston University and is a native English and Spanish speaker with fluency in French and Haitian Creole. Dr Chris Carpenter Dr. Chris L. Carpenter is a pediatrician in Salinas, California and is affiliated with Natividad Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and has been in practice about 15+ years. Chirs is married to Lisa and they have an adopted twins from Haiti.
