Our Mission

Himalayan Kids' mission is to provide a caring, positive environment and modern education for orphans, destitute, and underprivileged children of the Himalayan border regions without regard to race, religion, or caste.

Our goal is to rescue more abandoned children from the high mountains. Eventually we would like to provide employment for these children as nurses, doctors and teachers. We are seeking your support to offer opportunities to these children.

Thank you for your support.

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Notre Dame Monogram Club is pleased to announce that the 2014 Edward "Moose" Krause Distinguished Service Award will be presented to Rotaplast co-founder and medical director Dr. Angelo Capozzi ('56, baseball).

Dr. Capozzi will receive the organization's highest honor at An Evening With the Monogram Club, on Saturday, April 12 in Sports Heritage Hall, following the 85th edition of the Blue Gold Game.

"Dr. Capozzi has taken that concept of service to mankind that we all learned here at Notre Dame and put it into action," Monogram Club past president (2009-11) and Awards Committee chair Joe Restic ('79, football) said. "He has been directly involved with over 50 medical missions all over the world to treat children born with a cleft lip or palate deformity. It is this extraordinary commitment and involvement with youth that makes him the ideal recipient for this year's Moose Krause Award."

After graduating from Notre Dame with honors in 1956, Capozzi attended the Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University in Chicago. He completed general surgery training at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Ill., and plastic surgery training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, before joining the Air Force. Stationed at the Travis Air Force base in Fairfield, Calif., Capozzi served as Chief Plastic Surgeon until 1968, when he began private practice in San Francisco.

In 1976, Capozzi made his first international mission, joining Interplast (now called ReSurge) on a trip to Mexicali, Mexico, to assist children with cleft lip and palate. Nearly 40 years and over 60 mission trips later, he is still working to improve the lives of children around the world.

Today, Capozzi serves as medical director and co-founder of Rotaplast, an organization established with Rotary International in 199

I come from a family of entrepreneurs. My father founded his automobile dealership in 1952. When he passed away prematurely in 1965, neither my brother nor I were prepared to take over the business. My mother sold his business after another year or two because it was too much for her to oversee. If I had known then what I know now, I would have advised her to consider other options that would have ensured the final years of her life were even more comfortable.

But more importantly, I would have advised my dad to put in place a comprehensive plan to ensure my mother benefited from the full value of the business legacy he had created and worked so hard for.

My passion is helping family business owners realize their dreams—for themselves, for their families, for their employees and other stakeholders, and to retire successfully and comfortably.

I help individuals and their businesses achieve phenomenal, enduring success. I’ve worked with businesses of all sizes in a variety of capacities—business strategist; management, marketing and sales consultant; sales, marketing, and systems development manager; intrapreneur (in-house entrepreneur); and systems designer; custom education solutions consultant; and educator.

I hold a Ph.D. in Executive Management from the Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management at Claremont Graduate University and an M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Michigan. My AB degree in Mathematics is from Humboldt State University. I am a member of the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics and the Association for Transpersonal Psychology

The Camino de Santiago is a 500 mile pilgrimage beginning in southern France, crossing the Pyrenees mountains into Spain and continues west across the width of Northern Spain. In 2016 over 260,000 pilgrims from all over the world walked this ancient path that has been traveled for over 1,200 years. In June of 2015 Jeff Davidson completed this walk over 25 days. Jeff shared his experiences through a multi-media presentation covering a brief history of the Camino, his preparation, experiences and reflections.

Our mission is to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities by enriching the lives of all people in spirit, mind and body.

Our strategic vision is that the healthiest children in America will live in the Bay Area, building the skills and habits for a healthy life, being empowered to reach their highest potential.

For more than 160 years, the YMCA of San Francisco has addressed the most pressing social issues of the day—whether that was helping immigrants adjust to life in America or supporting soldiers newly returned from war find jobs back home.

We are committed to building equity through our diversity, inclusion, and global engagement efforts. We work to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, age, cultural background, ethnicity, faith, gender, gender identity, ideology, income, national origin, race, or sexual orientation has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.

Our 14 YMCAs in San Francisco, Marin and San Mateo counties strive to understand the complex nature of emerging needs and develop unique programming built upon community strength. We understand that each of our communities has unique challenges which are always addressed in a pro-active and compassionate way.

Lara is the Senior Executive Director at the Presidio and Point Bonita YMCAs

Camille Richman is a mechanical engineer who started working in agriculture as a researcher at the MIT Media Lab's CityFarm project. There she operated a shipping container-sized hydroponic and aeroponic farm and designed a personal-sized controlled environment farm called the "Food Computer."  Camille was excited by the power of controlled environments to make farming possible anywhere, no matter the season. Now Camille's company HAMAMA is bringing hydroponic technologies into homes across the United States with its first product line: an affordable kit that makes growing nutrient-dense vegetables year-round easy.
