Susan B. Levine has been in the financial services industry for most of her career. She was most recently a Managing Director at the Cowen Group (New York), working primarily in real estate where she was responsible for capital raising and investor relations.  Prior to joining the Cowen Group, Ms. Levine held several marketing and investment positions at a number of different private investment firms, including one that she co-founded.  Ms. Levine started her career in finance at Lehman Brothers, which she joined in 1984, and left in 1993 to join the Clinton Administration Treasury Department in Washington DC.

Ms. Levine moved to San Francisco in 2005 to work at a woman-owned hedge fund, and in August of 2015, Ms. Levine and her husband moved to Sonoma from San Francisco, where Ms. Levine planned to continue her bi-coastal life of working in New York and San Francisco. That all changed when Ms. Levine suffered a traumatic accident in New York City, which left her a double amputee, having lost her right arm above the elbow and her left leg above the knee. As a result of the accident, Ms. Levine retired from Cowen and has settled into living full time in Sonoma. She has always been involved in non-profit board service, which she continues to do, including joining the board of the Sonoma Mentoring Alliance. Ms. Levine is a mentor to a 10-year old boy; she is physically active, engaging in swimming, biking, CrossFit and yoga, and she is involved with the Challenged Athletes Foundation, which helps athletes with disabilities engage in sport.

Ms. Levine received a B.A. in political science with distinction from Swarthmore College and an M.B.A. in finance from Columbia University. She studied Chinese and lived in Taiwan and worked extensively throughout East Asia, including China, Thailand and Japan.

REBELS WITH A CAUSE - http://rebelsdocumentary.org/trailer/ tells the story of the dreamers and schemers who fought to keep wealthy developers from taking over – and destroying – breathtaking natural landscapes. Despite their early efforts, however, "it wasn't until John Kennedy was elected in 1960 that things began to move..." says Bill Duddleson, Legislative Assistant to then - Congressman Clem Miller. "We drew up a petition which said only this: 'Dear Mr. President, only you can preserve this magnificent seashore for all generations of Americans. It's NOW or NEVER!'" recalls Peter Behr, former California State Senator.

Bianca Valenti, is a professional big wave surfer. She began surfing at age 7 in the dirty waters of Doheny Beach, Dana Point which was the same moment she became an environmentalist! In 2012 she won the ASP Women’s Pipeline Pro in Oahu, Hawaii. Most recently she became the first ever champion of a woman’s big wave event which took place as part of the Big Wave World Tour at Nelscott Reef, Oregon.

Bianca is paving the way in Women’s Big Wave surfing along with a small group of other women in the world. Big wave surfing is defined as riding waves 30ft and bigger. Bianca is not sure if anyone else in the world cares about her being good at surfing and/or riding big waves as it is mostly a selfish pursuit…BUT in case anyone in the world is inspired by her talent and what she does on waves she hopes they will take that inspiration and put it to use towards helping the environment and trying to make a more sustainable planet for the future!
