Andrew Mattiace, Mattiace Corporation
The Rotary Club of Jackson was pleased to welcome Andrew Mattiace, President of the Mattiace Company.
 
The invocation was given by Katie Eubanks, the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Steve Corbitt and Janet Scott led the Four-Way Test. Visiting Rotarians and Guests were welcomed by Mike Pepper.
 
Seated at the head table included Ashby Foote of Vector Money Management, Penney Ainsworth of the Boys and Girls Club of Central MS, Ronny Lott of Madison County and Alasdair Roe of Vigilant Health, who introduced our speaker.
 
The Rotary Club of Jackson was pleased to have William Harvey, Club President of Mississippi College Rotaract Club speak for a few moments regarding the activities of the Rotaract Club.
 
Keith Ferguson, along with Jack Spradling, presented Victor Smith with the Service Above Self Award.  Victor has spent his life in service to others, locally and around the globe.  Victor has previously been recognized as Rotarian of the Year through Rotary International.  The Rotary Club of Jackson is honored to present him with the award and a personalized poem form Jack Spradling.
 
District 6820 will be hosting a World Polio Day Celebration on October 24, 2019.  ALL RCJ MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.  The address is 3800 S I-55 in Jackson.  The event is at the Toulouse Building of St. Dominics which is off of Frontage Road.  If direction are needed please key in address, NOT St. Dominics.
 
Andrew Mattiace is the President and founder of Mattiace Properties, Inc. He is also the owner and General Managing Partner for The Mattiace Company and Mattiace Development Company, LLC. Prior to starting his own company, he was the Hinds County Finance Director and Deputy Chancery Clerk.
Mr. Mattiace graduated from St. Joseph High School in Jackson where he earned a scholarship to attend Belhaven University and earned a B.S. in accounting. While at Belhaven, he received the Outstanding Leadership Award and was elected Team Captain. His early career was in accounting, but his passion for real estate and dealmaking led to the start of his own firm.
Mattiace Properties, Inc. was founded in 1979 and has been actively involved in real estate development of shopping centers and office buildings in Mississippi, Tennessee and Louisiana, and has developed in excess of 4 million square feet of retail and office buildings.
Mr. Mattiace took us through several current projects which included Renaissance Phase II and Phase III among others.   Phase II includes a show fountain and luxury boutique movie theater to be the focal point and anchor of this new phase of the retail development in the Jackson, Mississippi metro area.  Phase III includes Costco and the fuel station which is still in negotiations.
 
Mr. Mattiace fielded several questions about properties he has built and projects he has been involved in developing.

There will be no Rotary meeting 10/28/2019 in order to encourage attendance at World Polio Day Celebration AND Fall Party at Kathy Hackshaw’s home on 10/29/2019 (details to follow).
