Ethics Day - Feb. 16
Ethics Day is THIS Thursday, February 16 at Thompson Park in West St. Paul for 60 Henry Sibley high school Juniors and Seniors.  The goal is to take student leaders and teach them to think about the every-day ethical decisions that they encounter so that when they are faced with a tough decision in real life, they will make the right decisions.  If you would like to set up or help with take-down or just to buy food, see Katie Lowe. If you would like to be a table monitor for a table of kids, see Katie. If you would like to sponsor a table ($100) and come for lunch, see Katie.  It is a very rewarding experience for everyone. Be there around 7:30 a.m. to set up, the kids arrive at 8:45ish and they finish up by 3:00 so take down is after that.  Thanks to everyone who has volunteered!  You'll love it!
Board meeting next week
There is a Board meeting Tuesday, Feb. 21.  Here's what's cooking:
1. We will be recapping Ethics Day
2. We will be discussing the proposed 2017-2018 Board members as recommended by President-Elect Hanson
We will be considering a donation request from the Dakota County Historical Society on a WWI - 100th Anniversary Project
4. Other good and fun stuff

Charter Night
Charter Night, which is the event we call our Birthday Party (we were "chartered" in 1990), will be held on Thursday, Feb. 23 at Bad Weather Brewery in St. Paul.  See the Events Calendar for the details.  It will start at 5:00 with a potluck, so bring a dish or dessert to share, and then we will pack food for Harvest Pack, a local non-profit founded by our very own William McNally.  Similar to Feed My Starving Children in concept, the biggest difference is that Harvest Pack feeds families locally with nutritious meals.  We make a difference at home in our own community.  We will work until we finish or until people want to go home, but approximately 8:00 p.m.  Come for some or all of the time - it will be a relaxed and fun social event, while being a community service event too!  Having fun while making a difference! That's our motto!
Foundation Tax Exemption
In case you were wondering, if you donate to our WSP-MH Foundation, it is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization.  Click here for the IRS letter so signifying our status.  Feel free to claim donations to the Foundation on your taxes.
Domestic Violence Awareness Luncheon
At our meeting on Feb. 8, we heard from former prosecutor Al Zdrazil on Domestic Violence.  It just so happens that 360 Communities (insert new member Jackie's name here) is hosting its annual Domestic and Sexual Violence Awareness Luncheon on Friday, Feb. 24 from 11:30-1:30 at Brackett's Crossing in Lakeville.  The speakers are always amazing at this event, so if you would like to learn more about what folks are doing or what you can do to help combat the issues associated with this important issue, please consider attending.  Click here for the brochure.
