 President Valarie Namen (left) presents a $7500 check to Principal Libby Huettl for the new Somerset Elementary All Inclusive Playground.  Libby said this check puts them over their fundraising goal of $345,000.  Demolition of the old playground has started.  The new build starts on July 31.  If you'd like to help, here is the link for the Community Build- https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F4EA4AA23A5FF2-49854993-play#/  Way to go WSP/MH Rotary Club!

Adam Arnold gave our club a very informative talk about the Aspen House.  The  Aspen House is located just east of the Mendota Heights City Hall on Victoria Rd. South.  This facility is operated by Nexus Family Healing and is a short term youth shelter.  They are a community based short-term shelter for youth ages 11 to 18 (all genders). They have 12 private bedrooms and staffed 24/7.  Started in partnership with Dakota & Washington counties, Aspen House now serves youth from all counties in MN.  Referrals from county workers are required.  Besides temporary housing, Aspen House provides  recreational activities, educational instruction, coordination with outside supports, stabilization services, and ongoing connections with family support systems.  Care may also incorporate mental health assessments and services.  Thanks again Adam for your interesting talk.  For more information check out AspenHouseMN.org.  Pictured below with Mark is Rotarian William McNally (left).

1 - Our club is finishing our year at the end on June 30 with $600 in the bank!  Thanks Bob Gullick!

2 - We have approved these amounts to spend: 

    a. $2500 from the club for Somerset all inclusive playground.  $7500 has been collected.

    b. $500 to the Rotary club of Forest Lake for an international water project.

    c. $250 to the American Cancer Society (result of Wednesday, June 19 speaker - Jeff Molby)

3. - Next Loaves & Fishes is July 30th.

4 - We're going to do a MatterBox pack in July.

5 - Prior Lake Music Fest fundraiser is July 12th and 13th.

6 - Board is considering a wine/beer raffle on November 13th.

7 - July 10 will be the presidential hand off to Val Namen.

8 - Next board meeting is via zoom on July 16th at 7:30a.m. Notify Dave Hanson if you'd like to attend.

The board would like to have local businesses present a 3 minute introduction to their company at each meeting.

Please let Dave Hanson know if you have someone and he'll add them to the meeting schedule.

One 3 minute presentation at each meeting would be the goal.
