We had a Board meeting today and it was full of news and activity!! So as not to keep you in suspense any longer... 1. We accepted the membership application of Matt Chirhart from BankCherokee!! It's official - he's in! 2. The District Governor is coming on Nov. 1 (short Board meeting to follow) 3. Bridget/Jackie volunteered to attend the Foundation Celebration Event on Nov. 4 at Brackett's Crossing (anyone is invited to attend and we will pay the fare) 4. Ethics Day will be in November so stay tuned 5. We accepted the resignation of Benjamin Theisen Escobar (reluctantly and sadly) 6. (drum roll...) NOW WHAT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR.... MOONSTRUCK TOTALS!! Preliminary results are in and here are the totals: Beer Raffle = $3,280 Wine Raffle = $4,030 Dessert Auction = $615 Live Auction = $1,275 Silent Auction = $3,347 Pete's "Extras" = $745 Golfers = $4,500 Dinner Only = $2,880 Sponsors and other donations = $11,050 After all expenses are paid, we expect to NET around $25,000 Way to go Katie, William and everyone else that worked so hard to make Moonstruck a success! Check out the photo album of all the evening's fun in the right-hand column! The Net proceeds will be shared as follows: $15,000 will go to our Club $10,000 will be split between the WSP Y and Harvest Pack Anything over and above $25,000 will be shared equally between the 3 groups! So, now because we have money, the Board voted to approve the following donation requests: - $1,000 to VOSH (eyeglasses for Central America through optometrists without borders)
- $1,000 to Fishing for Fun
- $1,000 to the Boy Scouts for camper scholarships
We were all exhausted after that and decided to call it a day. We all went back to Jackie's house and she shared her beer raffle prize! |
