Last meeting of 2016
It was a small but intimate group that attended the last regular meeting of 2016.
We only let half of Ed Malloy be in the picture since he was late to the meeting.
What's coming up...
We've got some exciting events coming up... Pay attention:
  • Board meeting Tues, Jan. 17 at 7:30 a.m. AT PERKINS!!  From Jan. - Mar., Southview will not be open on Tuesdays when we have our regular Board meetings, so we will be temporarily moving to Perkins on Robert St.
  • Neighbor's Inc. Annual Inventory Sat., Jan. 21 at 8:15 a.m.  The more fingers and toes that are there to help count, the faster it goes! See Calendar for all the details.
  • Charter Night Event Thur. Feb. 23 at 6:00 p.m. at Bad Weather Brewery. We will be packing meals for Harvest Pack, eating, drinking, carrying on... It is a Club event so everyone is invited to attend and bring family, friends, strangers.. anyone who you want to introduce to Rotary in a non-threatening manner.  This is the night!
Heartline grant is complete!
We received notice from the District that we have submitted all of the required documentation for the Heartline Maternity Center in Haiti and our District Grant is now officially closed!  All kudos go to Bridget (and Bob for keeping the funds straight) for seeing it through to the finish line!  It was a really tough road, partly because we started as a global grant, with many failed attempts at finding a partner Rotary Club in Haiti, to almost being rejected by the District for a District Grant because they were skeptical that any project in Haiti would actually happen, to receiving the District Grant, to working with our local contact who traveled to Haiti frequently to implement and oversee our funds were used appropriately to the final result of an expanded and remodeled Maternity Center, complete with a much-needed generator and batteries that help them deliver babies at all hours of the day and night. Here are some of the photos during the life of the project...
