Want to be part of something BIG while doing something small? The Great Mississippi River Clean Up is an effort of the Mayors along the Mississippi River to clean up all the plastic pollution starting in our neck of the woods, way up here in MN so that it doesn't end up all the way down there in the Gulf of Mexico. We are one of the test sites - we will not only clean up the plastic pollution we see, but log it into a national database so that the researchers from the University of Georgia can look at the success (or failure) of the recent efforts to curb littering and reduce plastics in the environment. Our part is this: We are going to meet at Crosby Farm in St. Paul (the northern entrance off S. Davern) on SATURDAY, MAY 10 at 8:30 a.m. We are hoping you'll help for at least 30 minutes, but you can keep going as long as you want to! Remember, we are not only picking up the trash and plastics specifically, but we are doing research, so you need to keep track of the plastics you see/pick up.
